big prawn noodle.
Shiu-chan wanted to try famous Big Prawn noodle in Adam road horker centre.
He ordered $5 one and enjoyed it.

Horsy Day.
I felt missed horses so much and decided to visit horse city.
Shiu-chan accompany me and we Jalan jalan around horse city.
It was new findings that there is a new horse riding (or polo) club or facility just behind the horse city.
There we could see horses closely, but still better get permission to go into the stable...=(
From the horse city, we could walk and reached to Bukit Timah Suddle club!

Alkaff Mansion - 2.
Alkaff Mansion,
For Shiu-chan, it was first time visiting.
For me, since 9 years...
I can still recall like a yesterday,
When I came here for overseas attachment programme.
I had my first Singapore's D&D.
Those nice mosaic tiles, relaxing entrance area,
Nice gardens, and main building, fountains...Still remain same.
One thing, that time the lavatory was still old type,
pull and pour water from overhead water tank is now changed to modern style. haha =P

Alkaff Mansion - 1.
Usually we going out during day time.
Today we went for jalan jalan and meal in the evening.
So that Shiu-chan won't be so sweat! =P
I brought him to secret place,
It's known as Malay restaurant previously and now known as Italian dining,
Alkaff Mansion.
After they close its doors for sometime, last year, December 2012, they opened its doors again.
We had pizza and pannacotta,
Pizza was thin crispy crust and load of mozzarella cheese.
Maybe I prefer more tomato sauces on it but Shiu-chan liked their pizza alot.
Pannacotta is lemongrass flavour and both we enjoyed nice fusion of Italian and Asian =)
The place it self is very relaxing and hidden place.
It should be nice to go there for lazy brunch! =D

Green Tea Roll.
Long long time never baked bread...
Until I forgot to add important ingredients of SALT!!!
I added green tea powder and the bread became a little bit bitter.
This time round, I used Hokkaido Wheat mix flour.
Which uses a few types of Hokkaido grown wheat flour such as Haruyo Koi, Kitano Kaori.
Very Very sad that due to no baking and recent terrible humidity, my favourite Haru Yutaka blend flour and Lys D'or and the other french bread flour were all spoiled...='((

*High Protein Flour (11% protein) - 250g
*Chilled water - 165g
*Dry yeast - 2g
*Sugar - 10g
*Salted butter - 10g
*Green Tea powder - 1tsp
*Knead all together >> 1st proofing for 45mins >> Release gas, Divide into 9pcs >> Bench time 15mins >> Release gas, make into round shape >> 2nd proofing 45mins >> Bake with Pre-heated 210degC oven for 13 mins.

*Plain English scones*
*Cake flour - 100g
*Unsaleted butter - 50g
*Salt - 1/4 tsp
*Sugar - 1/2 tbsp
*Baking Powder - 1tsp
*Milk - 40ml
1. Blend cubed chilled butter with flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
(Use pie blender or folk, knife to prevent butter to be melted)
2. Once done, add milk and blend well.
3. Make into one dough, rest in fridge for 30mins.
4. Rolled to 2cm thickness and cut(or use scone mold) into 6-7 pcs, brush milk on top.
5. Bake with pre-heated 180 decC oven for 13-15mins.

Shiu-chan was looking for Drop Stop,
It is one of wine tool, just fold and insert into wine bottle opening and then, wine will not drip.
Simple yet very impressive invention.
Simple but no one think about this till one found it.
After checking a few drop stop, found Riedel Japan's drop stop.
2 pcs for 1000yen is a littlebit expensive but 100% will goes to charity for earthquake and tsunami victims.
not 10% or part of the cost, 100%.
Shiu-chan immediately decided to purchase from Riedel Japan.
This is something very meaningful than just purchasing normal drop stop =)

Tim Sum jalan jalan - final.
Shiu-chan searched another tim sum shop in Geylang.
This should be the last one to visit.
Although they are guys, our stomach are almost full in capacity.
Surprisingly, this shop's tim sum was the best so far,
size, texture and taste.
Pretty friendly to pocket too =)
I wish to come back again in next time!!

Tims Sum Jalan Jalan.
We went to another tim sum shop in Geylang,
This shop is actually have a few branches and take away shop island wide, and actually I wanted to try their dumplings for a quite sometime.
Their dumplings are pretty my liking, only thing a bit regret is all things are too big portion.
Xia Kao is not my type...too big and too thick skin...

Gelyang TimSum Tour - 1.
When Shiu-chan had gathering with his bankmate,
somehow they decided to go to Geylang for Tim Sum.
Begin with K-kun recommendation.
Front Ha Gao is normal while behind one is King size.
I straight forward just order Ha Gau.
For my understanding about Tim Sum is only available in morning or brunch time and this shop is open for 24hrs.
It was pretty surprising for me.
Their Ha Gau skin was too soft till break.
But the taste was homey kind of nostalgic taste =)

Torio-de-163.
Shiu-chan's friends came over to our house for gathering.
Their his bankmate and after NS, it is not easy to have time together.
He was really happy about this gathering and start thinking what to serve for them for more than a week.
I was happy seeing him happy.
And today, they came from totally opposite side of Singapore from our house.
Our sincerely thanks for them for coming to our house and sharing their time.
I like to see them together, Torio-de-163.
I wish their friendship will last longer =)

SpeedPost.
I have requested my mum to send parcel over to Singapore via EMS and I was surprised by SpeedPost's tracking.
It was with delivery courier even before reached to sorting centre and delivery courier failed to deliver after midnight....
Maybe I am too used to wonderful & convenient courier service in Japan...but hope at least check and manage tracking system and devices properly since they are so-call speedpost and using such system...
